Why does 4chan seem to hate extremely popular things?

E.g. Apple products, pubg, Tesla

Things they have in common: by far most influential in their category, incredible sales, very innovative
And for some reason virgins can't stand them.

Status quo bias is what its called in psychology.

Basically people are dug into whatever is the status quo and will defend it for as long as they can hold out, regardless of whether the newer phenomena better or not.

Apple laptops and OSX (before the 2016 laptop redesign were objectively superior in terms of quality and longevity. I have a 2011 MBP and it has held up extremely well with minimal slowdown of the software. When I started undergrad I had an expensive PC laptop break on me after less than a year.
I can't stand iOS though

Now games are a category which I know a lot about. And when I say a lot, I mean a lot. And let me tell you the hate towards AAA games and devs is well warranted. Big devs have been destroyed by consumerism. Developers that used to be gods have turned into steaming piles of shit. It's sad to watch this happen and consumers have every right to be angry.
Thankfully there are indie devs that still make great games. But if you gamed in the 90s early 00s like me, you will be appalled by the state of gaming industry today.
If you are a kid though, you won't know the difference and happily play pubg or fortnite or whatever filth.
Ignorance is bliss.

The No.1 complaint is that it's overpriced, or what they really mean is they hate "Apple Culture". I moved from Windows -> Linux -> Apple because Windows was pissing me off and I hated those piece of shit noisy laptops that keep overheating. Linux seemed too powerful for what I was using it for (Work related & Internet Browsing).

Lots of people feed off this toxic atmosphere on the internet and it's much easier to say you hate something or laugh at it than to defend it.
