Is an IQ of 145-150 good enough to major in math/physics?

I’m concerned I won’t be adequate when I actually decide my major. I like technical stuff, I’d consider myself bright and have a lot of intellectual qualities. In particular I’d consider myself with the confirmation from my peers as pretty logical. Is this the right path, or should I cop out for a different STEM field major?

I imagine math/physics courses are filled with rick & morty tier redditors.

You need to have a very high IQ to understand set theory

No doubt, it’s one of my main fears. Though I might as well contribute to something significant rather than grow to be a bitter old man having not added anything to the world.

if your this self concious about your iq, no dont. For one your most likely not in that range for two your ego will be clapped when you realise high iq doesent mean shit and its really work ethic. You are not ready for either

1) You do not have an IQ of 145-150.
2) Yes 145-150 IQ is easily good enough to major in maths/physics.

I’m really not self conscious about it. I’m asking a genuine question solely about IQ qualifications.

do something else mathematicians and physicts are smart but there not self-conscious about their area of study based on their I.Q they actually care about the subject and donit because they enjoy it otherwise its hard to pass those degrees. Consider some other shit

LOL.
my highschool gave over half the students a test and you could not score below 130iq, everyone I knew scored around 150-180 shits bullshit. The fact that you believe that might even bump ur shit low LUL

They aren't. I go to a purely technical college, there are a rare few. Most people here are pretty serious.

Related, almost none of them waste their time here either.

You absolutely did not get 145 IQ in high school. No one at your high school was even close to 145. 130+ is reserved pretty much reserved for geniuses. Also someone with an IQ of 145 wouldn't be so stupid to think that an IQ 145 might not be good enough to major in Maths/Phsyics

Yeah, op is probably larper but in high school I got 135 while the people around me got in the 90s. In college that changed though. Everyone I asked in my STEM degree who took the test got 120+.

I absolutely did. And I ask this question to actually see if I could handle the workload/ could understand it better than high school physics electives.

Yes I'm fully aware that the number you got back was 145, but that doesn't actually mean you have an IQ of 145. I genuinelly don't think you realise how high 145 is. Your school significantly inflated your score to make you and the other kids feel better.

>Workload
How are we supposed to be able to tell if you can handle the workload based on your IQ? Also you never mentioned workload intitially. You are bullshitting.

>> No.10507688

>>10507657
I’m bullshitting? Because I want to know if I should pursue a career in physics/math and I wanted to know if I could handle the workload from only having physics knowledge from high school electives? They didn’t inflate the scores either, there the majority of kids who got 101-110 and gifted, and so on and so forth. I’m not fucking stupid, and I’m not going to believe something just because someone fucking told me. I’m aware that they do this with some high schools but this was legit. They don’t do that type of shit to make people feel better at my school. We don’t even have shit like basic shit you probably had in high school like AC.

>> No.10507726

>>10507393
No, you need 200 IQ to major in math/physics. With 145-150 IQ your only prospect is to be a janitor.

>> No.10507737

>I’m bullshitting? Because I want to know if I should pursue a career in physics/math and I wanted to know if I could handle the workload from only having physics knowledge from high school electives?
You are bullshtting ABOUT all that bullshit I just quoted and NOT BECAUSE. This was literally never mentioned initially and you know just as much as anyone else that IQ has very little to do with managaing workload. Holy fuck that was one hell of a straw man.

>They didn’t inflate the scores either, there the majority of kids who got 101-110 and gifted, and so on and so forth.
So the majority of high school kids, people who are not at their intellectual peak, got above average IQ's. Thank you for proving my point.

>I’m not fucking stupid
You just asked if 145 IQ was good enough to major in Maths/Physics.

>We don’t even have shit like basic shit you probably had in high school like AC.
How is this even the slightest bit relevant?
