Am I the only one who believes that our future is a good one?

I mean, nowadays it seems to be some kind of a trend to believe that "humanity is evil" and "we will destroy ourselves" and so on.

I personally believe that humans did much more evil back in the times when communication was scarce. While in today, it is easy to create the illusion of humanity being evil due to quick, global media. Just look around you, if there is one guy who decides to take a gun and goes shooting people in the street, how many people will act against it? Tens of thousands god damn it, the police, the medics, the relatives of the victims plus many many more. This will obviously attract the media's attention and many people will draw the conclusion that "oh humanity is so evil once again".

There is no reason to believe the humanity is drifting towards self-destruction. The odds are minuscule, plus take in note that we, humans, tend to find negative patterns in our environment and drift towards the feeling of unrest. It's not that bad when you think about it. If the majority of humans were criminals with primitive morale, the modern infrastructure along with all the technological, biological and ethical advancements of the past centuries would be non-existent.

"We will one day venture to the stars". There is no doubt of it.

inb4 oil crisis, water crisis, global warming, WW3 - NO. They may have a smaller or a bigger impact on the global community, but it's very unlikely they will lead to an any kind of destruction of the humanity.

Hello Mr Optimist.

No fuck off. Over population, starvation, reduced farming because we've fucked up the soil, insanely hard to kill bacteria, global warming, droughts, floods, more mutant humans because of our shit tier gene pool.

Prediction the future is always dumb. You can say that if nothing changes, X will happen, but cannot determine if something will change / be changed first.

Totally unscientific, and thus, sage.

Oh we will spread to the stars, but the future will be as messed up as the past. Also good and bad are relative. This is what the future will look like.

People throughout history have always been pessimistic. It's evolutionary, and it's purpose is to strive for a better future.

There are numerous projects and operations with their main objective to reduce those problems and to better humanity and our environment. You are now only concentrating on the negative sides.

Oh please, just look at the oil spill in America.

Third world countries don't have the money or resources to stop what they're doing, so they'll continue cutting down rainforest's, poaching etc

Most people are unsure of global warming, so no major steps have been taken.

I'd seriously love to go around and rape some thirdworld countries for resources and sexworkers.
