Assume we envision infinity, not as a dot, or a whole, but a hole. This whole hole hauls all available space down inside it. We can extrapolate that so long as there is a perfect right angle for this material that it will never touch. Therefore the hole itself is infinite so long as the prerequisite is met.

Not in the way most people think of it as. In fact, it's impossible to truly describe or think what "infinity" refers to because "it" is out of the scope of language.

It's the exact same issue with the concept of "nothing", you cannot think or describe what "nothing" is, because the very act of doing so is something. You cannot think or describe what "infinity" is, because the very act of doing so turns it into something which is finite.

Yes, nothing is when something isn't.

Doesn't sounds hard, it's correct and 7 year old kids who doesn't have to overthink everything understand it. It works until you get to retire and it's ultimate definition of nothing.

Main problem is that nothing is not opposite of something. And something can be nothing.

e.g.
-I'm studying philosophy.
-That's nothing bro, I've already got job as burger flipper without studying.

Talks about nothing are still nothing, as it doesn't contriute value, because your logic obviously miss the fact it's just handle, therefore it has to be something.

>> No.10469718

This is the superficial understanding of "nothing" I've already mentioned. Your description of "nothing" requires "some thing". That is not pure nothingness.

Also please, give me one situation I can work with nothing, besides linguistic act I prefer to work with something for obvious reasons.

It's like 0, when distance from 0 is 0 then it's 0. Distance is non. This identity is nothingness in one of it's form.

You may be looking for quantitative inverse of everything.

As Jedi I prefer to nothing not being absolute, but just a handle, reference, pointer or whatever to something absent.

>"I need something to nothing"
Well, I need myself to even think about it and that denies absolute nothingness.

In platonic world nothing is just absence.

In real world nothing is what I imagine when somebody asks me to imagine your sexual life. Contribution to community and general usability of your ideas.

I reason that infinity does exist.

Suppose it doesn't. That is, the universe is discrete (i.e. there exists a smallest interval in space and time), and more importantly, space and time stop at some boundary - it's finite. Then there is "emptiness" surrounding spacetime. But emptiness is infinite in its nothingness, and thus infinity exists in some form.
