I'm in full paranoia since then. I think he will take vengeance through my grades. Am I just being crazy and did the right thing or am I screwed?

>> No.10449321

Yes you fucked up. Present yourself during office hours offering to suck his dick in order to prevent future repercussions on your grades.

this was definitely worth a thread so we can all appreciate you being right good job OP

Transfer to a different uni before it's too late

How to solve this like a human being:
>Write an email to the prof or go see him in his office
>Tell him you're sorry for what happened the other day
>Tell him it wasn't your intention to offend him or anything, and that it was dumb to question him in public instead of asking him after class for such a minor detail
>Tell him it won't happen again and reiterate that you're sorry

Next time just don't insist and let it be. Some profs won't care or will even appreciate that you correct them, but you can really hurt some egos by correcting them in public.

>somehow he's supposed to apologize for it
OP should stand by his acts, and maybe even keep correcting that virgin in order to assert his intellectual dominance. By the end of the semester people will think you're the next Von Neumann

Math professors (and professors in general) are some of the most egotistical people on the planet.

>>10449334
Do this, otherwise you'll be on his shitlist for the rest of the semester/quarter. Also, forget about doing research or getting a LoR from him if he's actually relevant. That ship has sunk.

Once, I got sent up for insubordination for doing what you did
Another time, I ended up on a brainlet professor's shitlist
A third time, it got me a PhD

In class with a bitch prof showing a proof, I asked a sequence of leading questions that led her to conclude the proof was nonsensical.

Was reported for distrubing the class or some shit, but totally worth it.

He got corrected in public one too many times and strangled a student.

I'm worried that I took an offer to do a program with a PI who has tenure, but hasn't gotten a grant in a long time. Research is moderately expensive, but nothing crazy (most studies require $10k of materials). School is allegedly top 10 in the field as per US news.

Am I fucked? Somebody tell me I'm not fucked. I really like doing bullshit simulation research, but it is extremely far from my advisor's specialties.
