What higher level science or math (beyond basic understanding) have you guys actually applied personally? Are any of you actual curious outside of school/work? Have any of you built anything or done experiments to solve a problem?

or are y'all a bunch of nerds who focus on academic performance like sum fags

Most importantly mathematical analysis three times underlined(real, complex, functional, PDEs, whatever), some group and representation theory and linear algebra.

What was the problem you used those to solve? I'm interested in the applications outside of research/academia/occupation settings.

I use real analysis to study stock price changes. I may have actually made a breakthrough in doing so, but I have a feeling my technique will be independently discovered soon. Anyway, I got rich off it in 5 years.

Differential Geometry and PDEs to try to predict the shape of soap bubbles and soap film on some simple frames.
Simple (the maths are non trivial tho), silly stuff, but fun.

What do you mean "nowadays"? Stochastic calculus, heavily reliant on analysis, has been used for years.

I'm a zoomer so technically "years ago" for me, none of this existed. Forgive me.

Well. Not much but Im going to do something about it as I see myself as a high genius out of what I've done in the past. Which is e.g my school were once tested in math and got this test where all the students had to do. The got 2 weeks preparation which I didn't have and I still got an A. I were the only one at school with an A out of 1200 students there was one A and that was me. Also in electromechanics I had alot of formulas in physics and electronical math which I had no problem with. It was no challenge at all. I got straight A in all tge tests. So Im curious how smart I actually am. I once became top player in wow too. Rank 1 in arenas back in the days season 4 TBC. So I've done fucking good. I got an A in natural science too. And Im no nerd at all I banged alot of chicks too. And nearly never done any homework. So be me easy mode. Btw I do actually think Im like Tesla smart. So I want to do Tesla shit one day.

What's holding you back? Just do it if you want to, where there's a will there's a way.
