I've heard conflicting reports. Are we going to survive man-made climate change?

>> No.10419689

>>10419685
That's highly dependent on what we do in the next few decades

Not if you live in Africa

Thinking man can change the climate of the planet.
How arrogant can you be?

At least some humans will but they might envy the dead depending on how the geopolitics play out.

No you haven't.

we managed to blow a hole into the ozone layer that seems to have caused a significant increase in skin cancer rates. we've also brought about the extinction of several animal species. do you really think a population of seven billion intelligent primates with opposable thumbs can't create large-scale environmental effects?

>le Europeans vs Americans meme
How I know you are not from Europe, the post.
>kg
Have you ever been to the UK?
Stones and pounds are used in everyday measurement. Long miles also persist in Norway and other areas.
>cm
As again, inches and miles are still used for to measure distances.
>C°
We prefer Fahrenheit in the UK.

Pro-tip, most people literate in customary units are likewise literate in metric. The reverse is not true. This is why redditors, and shitskins make memes like yours.

The french revolution and the metric system were tragic missteps.

>> No.10420040

Metric should be redone, with base measures differing. They're too obtuse or meager for most practical measures.
There is no reason why a mile cannot be partitioned in metric increments. A centimile would unironically be a more practical measure than a centimeter.

The Celsius temperature gradient is too clunky unless further decimalized which is rarely specified on most thermostats or newscast. Humans are able to detect within 0.2°C changes in temperature.

Maybe you saw it on Twitter or Facebook or something. I forgot there are people who can't analyze information.

>>10420058
A blog, called Slog, the blog section of an indy newspaper (which doesn't even say we won't survive) and an opinion piece, which is also a blog (which sarcastically says civilisation surely won't survive).

Do better people. Look at what you're reading from.

Who said we are not going to survive? Certainly not any scientists. You're either misinformed or trolling. Global warming will be quite harmful nonetheless.

It's because of the niggers. As the numbers of niggers grows, albedo of the planet diminishes, and thus we have climate change. Niggers are killing the planet.

Look at Bill Gates recent interview. He's the only famous guy today that has any real grasp on the scale of climate change and what needs to be done to achieve carbon neutral. Even if we achieve carbon neutral we still would need to think about how to accommodate or perhaps prevent the heating that will occur from the CO2 already emitted. My guess is that we will achieve carbon neutral sometime in 2050 if we get off our asses and we'll hope the Africans and Asians figure something out. Or we just die by 2040 due to crop failures. Crops in Canada and America are already showing signs of weakening because of extremely wet and cold winters and increased frequency of wild fires.

It's interesting to think we may just become endangered or extinct. It honestly makes me kind of sad, but I feel like it's probably too late. Part of me hopes my dad lives long enough to fucking see this shit happening, he doesn't believe climate change is real and he thinks crops can survive fine without pesticide, GMOs, etc. Funnily enough, he tried to grow crops completely pure and the stinkbugs fucking ate all of his crops up and heat killed off a lot of his crops too.

So why are my hands dry and cracked every winter? Checkmate science.

>extremely wet and cold winters and increased frequency of wild fires
Serious question, is there ANY weather phenomenon that climate change isn't responsible for?
