hey /sci/,

i am insecure about my intelligence.
how do i put the issue to rest with myself for once and for all? how do i find out if i am smart or dumb or average?

i have to do a test for a job that i applied for, and i tried a practice version online, but i only gte half the answers right and i often need more time. the test consists of elements also present in IQ tests.

i care, because i want to be happy in my life and choose teh right direction of what kind of a job i should do, and not be delusional.
ive always noticed that i see lots of logical problems in things people say, and heard them say really uncritical dumb things. but i might be surrounded by idiots, and merely be a tiny bit smarter than them.

help me please i am in a crisis.

by the way, the job is working as a salesman in a hardware store, basically an unskilled job. so i figured i should be bombing this test!
have i lived my life delusional?

>i care

You don't even capitalize 'i'. Even if intelligence were a problem, your real concern is indignity.

How is that important?
English is not my native language, but can you explain to me why this is of concern? wouldnt it say something about my care in writing posts online?

Writing style is your personal signature, and if you neglect it, then others will neglect you.

Interview tests often
1. Contain too many questions on purpose to see how you manage in such an environment
2. To weed out overclarified people (because they are less likewto stay) and people who literally can't answer anything.

No test will tell you whether you are dumb, IQ tests measure very specific things and only indirectly.

Try to take up something (programming language, drawing, music, physics, math, etc.), the learning process is a good reflection of one's intelligence.

>i am insecure about my intelligence.
That's actually a good thing. Even though you might be intelligent, not accepting it as well as keep trying to prove it will push your intelligence and knowledge further. At least that's how I see it, many people say I'm smart but I feel like I don't deserve that title.

There is a thread parallel to this one where anon asks if you have to have "talent" for math. Anon, pretty much anything is feasible if you put time and effort in as this will likely yield more consistent results compared to just being "bright".
And remember, learning is also a skill that can be improved on through planning and self-reflection. I'd wish you good luck but luck has nothing to do with it.

I'm out of range of IQ. Sorry guys

What sort of person do you consider to be a good person? IQ probably isn't very high up on that list, so don't get obsessed with it

If you want to do better in IQ tests, google image streaming and start practicing it
