I took a course that used this book. Three guys dropped out and they were all EE students lol.

great book if you want to understand field theory

Weed out course for physics grads. Otherwise, we would be overrun by NdGT-esque fedoras.

Jesus Christ I don't get how people hate this book so much.
I swear to god the hate for Jackson comes 90% from engineering fags who don't even know the definitions of basic functions unless it's given on a sheet for them to copy, or it's equally retarded theorists who want to piss around with abstractions all day so that they can avoid having to sit down and actually work out a practical problem.
Which is exactly what electrodynamics should be. If you can't handle hard work to get real applications, go into field theory or something and fuck around with Lagrangians and Clifford algebras all day.
If you really can't solve practical problems, congratulations on your inferior maths degree. Otherwise work hard and get through a 'hard' textbook.
