If you think you can have multiple generations survive on a terraformed Mars using a 2 GW reactor in L1 orbit to create an artificial magnetosphere, I suggest you giddy up and get on over to Mars. You will be a shining example of stupidity and failure. Childless and ridden with cancer from the radiation.

How the fuck does one cool such a massive energy source in the vacuum of space? The only way to do it is to have a hot, spinning core of iron. The planet is the heatsink.

A 2 GW reactor is larger than any single reactors capacity in the WORLD. We have to pump more than a billion gallons of water through the largest reactor every year just to keep it from melting down.

The structure required to do this in space would be the single largest structure ever built by man.

We might as well spend the money on terraforming Terra after it gets fucked up enough.

TItan would be the best
Minerals on Titan could be used to make plastic domes and expand to the atmosphere

Does Saturns magnetosphere offer enough protection to the satellites to counteract the solar wind?
