I think the underlying observations and many of the overarching concepts he created are apt and easily observable in everyday life. In modern times, the "death drive" in particular. Eros and Thanatos. The bulk of the US population has, internally, fully embraced the death drive. This is what mass media finally did to us. They split the conscious frame in two, outward professed self overexpresses the life urge and generates output indicating self preservation and so forth. Internal self, true basis, is strictly the death drive. I view this people as pathetic degenerates and honestly though I'm ambivalent, I really hate them with all my heart. I too have nearly embraced the death drive, but my conscious frame is not split in two. I know what I'm doing and why, and my behavior reflects that.

I recommend people research also crisis cults, magical thinking, trauma and dissociation, and so on. I might have a particular tolerance for Freud and people of his era because since childhood I've viewed and treated the mind as an object with structure and functional organization. Most people's view of themselves, their state and state changes, their behavior, is nonsensical and generally alien. It's like watching another species.

Psychology and mental health has the worst development out of all science related fields tbqh, at very best now we take a pill that slows down the a brainpart as opposed to cutting it off

This. People need to stop parroting, actually do some (even wikipedia-tier) reading, and research crowd psychology.

Fortunately my high school actually snuck in some basic crowd psychology, cultural engineering, and marketing education. They also talked about critical thinking, a course that was eliminated in the 70's, and the rise and fall of complex societies. I pretty much dropped out early, but way in retrospect they deserve more credit than I gave them.
