Is it possible to remove the digestive system and get only intravenous feeding as nutrients? This has several pros:
1)no need to eat, eating is stressful for your body
2)more productive life, since you don't lose time doing a trivial task as eating and don't feel tired because your digestive system is working after a meal
3)body weights less
4)no bad breath since your mouth is linked only to your lungs
Etc

You could just link your mouth to a synthetic sack to contain the swallowed saliva

the bacteria in our gut are linked to our psychology. i don't see it as at all implausible that a man might go insane without a gut. things are often more complex then they seem

Post-removal therapy could include also a good balance of hormones and neurochemicals to keep your mind sane

This would be less sustainable in the long run. Intravenous feeding would only be possible with special equipment (needles, nutrient cocktail, etc).

I guess if you're planing to spend the rest of your life in your room or office it wouldn't be that bad, but it would be an inconvenience if you were planning on living a more active life.

Kidneys will not be able to remove the fat-soluble compounds that would normally be excreted with the bile, for example bilirubin. Removal of the digestive system would cause cholestasis, jaundice and eventual liver failure.

Yes. Some people have such short guts they are fed entirely on TPN. However it takes a toll, especially on your liver.
