To cut down on the multiple homework threads, why don't the mods allow a homework general thread?

It would clean up this board during the semesters. Also, people that actually need help with their homework have a better chance of receiving help here compared to posting on work safe requests.

It's a win-win for everyone, please consider it.

There is no false equivalence. Homework threads are illegal here just like rape is illegal in real life. You are asking for the establishment to designate an entire area of the space for that illegal activity. If you can do it for homework threads why not for rape? What about CP? I'm sure mods hate having to look around for CP all around the website, just have a dedicated thread on /gif/ for CP. It would be /gif/ related, wouldn't it?
