the sun won’t explode (assuming it doesn’t collide with any other stars, which is unlikely)—it will red giant and then white dwarf. during the red giant phase mercury and venus will be engulfed but earth won’t; however it will be super hot on the earth’s surface and most man made things will be obliterated except things very resistant to high heat for long periods of time, or things very deep underground
