I've enjoyed mathematics and general number disciplines my whole youth, and results showed talent on my part.
But money issues did not let me get into higher education, and I have been straying farther and farther away from these fields.
It has been 3 years now, and I have started to notice a decrease in my abilities. Calculus that seemed so easy to solve, concepts that were clear as day, are starting to seem more abstract and esoteric by the day. I'm talking about the same theorems I was wiping the floor with some years ago, not higher levels.

I am not happy with this, and would like some recommendations on what to do in my spare time to keep from getting rusty.

Thanks in advance.

Surely you've saved up some money now to go into post secondary.
Realistically that's the only way you'll ingrain and develop those skills

Skill is a muscle. without work you can lose it, with hard work you can recover it with strenght, even overcome natural talent. Use internet, it sounds pretty obvious, but there is a lot of information, books, guides, and everything else to keep studying everything you want to.

I'm Japanese and lived in Japan until age 8 before my parents moved to the US and they exclusively spoke English with me.

I now don't speak Japanese anymore. Your brain forgets stuff that is not actively worked on.

nah, some things are like riding a bike and will never be forgotten. the connections more than likely have just atrophied and need a warm up.

People who say that "brain is a muscle" need to be eradicated from genepool.

OP, just re-expose yourself to math and you will remember everything in no time.
