You failed to realize your contradiction. Those people studied as much as they wanted to. They all lived "normal" lives from their respective perspectives. No one sacrificed anything because in order to do so implies that there's something else they would have rather done that was worth sacrificing. There wasn't. We have a guy who was like this at our college. He got his bachelours in math at like 14. I think he did grad school after, but he was also a music genius, and someone ended up convincing him to be a concert musician. Granted, this guy is gifted, but I really do think prodigy status has a lot to do with circumstance. I asked him about how he ended up in university at such a young age and he told me this story about how his parents moved around and he ended up just not being able to properly fit into the different highschool systems, so someone gave him a textbook and he just kept studying, then his dad suggested he take uni classes. It seems like the people who end up in this position are always there because they're smart AND somehow they found themselves in circumstances where they didn't go through the normie schooling procedure. I suspect that most people with an IQ above 125 or so could be doing university-level maths at age 12-13 or so if they just didn't end up being forced through the social nightmare of highschool and were lucky enough to have someone show them a couple textbooks in a non-judgemental sort of way. Imagine yourself as a kid, growing up in a household with some books and decently smart people around, and not going to highschool, not "hanging out" with your friends, not getting jealous of other stupid kids who have big TVs and vidya and snack packs and shit. I guaruntee you that if you forced any of these prodigies through a normie school experience, they'd end up just as dumb as the rest of us. I remember being a kid fairly well, and I don't think I'm any smarter than I was back then. When I was a kid, I could always understand everything that was presented to me pretty much right away. I figure if they'd just kept presenting stuff to me, the learning would have just kept going.

Ask the kid about the circumstances that led to his interest in math, and how he got out of being forced to go to normie school.

I did. Skipped three grades throughout middle and high school, but dropped out of 12th grade to become a NEET for two years. That's maybe if you look at it from a perspective of an omniscient being who's intelligence is way above ours. If IQ of such being is like 10000 then sure, difference between 90 and 160 doesn't matter that much for him - we all are grug-tier retarded for him. But from perspective of a mortal human being the difference between a genius scientist and a Joe Schmo is immense. The latter can't even grasp the abstract concepts to understand the complexity of our universe and the scientific interpretation of it. Thus he won't be able to get even close to building AI. Sure, you can teach everyone algebra/basic math, but without scientific revolutions and breakthroughs it would take you tens of thousands of years to get close to even build first computer, let alone AI. And said breakthroughs are almost always achieved by extra-high IQ individuals, not by ordinary people.

I was put through tests too and surpassed the classes on all the material (except French. my autistic ass just can't learn French for some reason). I was bored in highschool so I fucked off and did delinquent shit, and ended up getting arrested and going to juvie. Didn't learn shit in school for the last two years & graduated from the juvie highschool :- ( I had fun in juvie though. Read a lot of textbooks on my own and learned to sketch really well. I wish I had studied more math though.
