we know our results are proven valid and need not ever be modified once they are proven valid. they may be generalized to suit some other purpose, but that's another thing entirely
all science can do is uncover laws and create theories to explain those laws. theories get proven wrong all the time and even the most solid sciences replace their core theories every now and again
ffs physicists use the standard model while also knowing that the standard model is wrong, but since no one has come up with a better theory they just carry on

Pure math at least has the most steep learning curve. Maybe theoretical physics comes close, but even then, one could argue that theoretical physics at the cutting edge is just mathematics. take it as you will. Furthermore, pure mathematicians are your stereotypical high iq geniuses. because for research mathematicians, the minimum threshold intelligence, at least the ability to think abstractly, is higher than any of the sciences. I guess, that alone doesn't make them any better, but i guess that's enough to make them feel superior and science cucks to view them in awe

You don't have jackshit except your own brains in the study of math. Not to say that other fields aren't worth studying or that they're not hard. However, math is special because you don't get to fall back on anything but reasoning, pure or applied. Calculus is based on empirical facts. Had the integral not successfully predicted the area under a curve then Calculus would have been irrelevant. But it does and we know by measuring in the same way we do in science.

Empirical facts are based on a priori math. There was no way for the area under a curve to not be related to the integral and derivative. Of course that would have been "empirically" tested and "true" (I use quotes because there is no such thing as "truth" a posteriori).
