This is obviously just for Americans and while those people might be atheists if you're looking at religion for the perspective of highly centralised, organised monotheism, they're not actually irreligious and have a host of different religious beliefs and practices. Chinks are possibly some of the most observant religious in the world. Because the stats are Western in nature, with black and white followers and nonfollowers of official religions, the complex web of beliefs from various sources are not accounted for when looking at Asia and many other regions. Also, I think Juche counts as a religion.
