Brainlet here, can someone explain why meal replacement pills or similar haven't been invented yet?

I took a serious look into this years ago and you can get everything you need from pills alone. Liver pill would have constituted most of the diet. It ended up being something like 30+ various pills a day. The problem wasn't so much the nutrition it was destroying my stomach lining by taking so many pills.

I imagine your typical calorie intake is a sheer mass in grams that just isn't practical in pill form.

What about an extremely dense calorie pill. Something like a nuclear pill that has as much energy in calories as a nuclear bomb.

Doable but not very healthy. Long-term you would suffer. There's no reason not to just eat food, it's easier in all respects. There's no need for it in military or space applications, either. The 'instant' foods used in these are quite mature and effective, space and weight is irrelevant in something that compact.

This is neither here nor there, but your jaws would atrophy extremely if you stopped eating

Yes, Goy, yes. Try the new SuperStim(tm) meal pill with a mystery ingredient, you only have 12 hours left on your shift. A new product for that last leg of the day.

Average BMR is about 1800 kcal. The most nutrient dense molecules are lipids. Assuming permanent ketosis, you'd need 200 grams of your meal replacement pill. 200 grams is far too much for a pill
That's ignoring the potential long term effects of ketosis. And you need proteins anyway. In reality you're looking at 360 grams. You cannot compress that into a pill
