Its discoverer, Sir Humphry Davy, originally named it alumium after the alum which which he was familiar, and later amended that to aluminum. Sir Humphry Davy was a chemist.

A few years later some cunts decided that it didn't sound pretentious enough and arbitrarily amended it to aluminium. Those cunts were editors, and not chemists or scientists of any sort.

Ergo it's called Aluminum, because the name doesn't change when some ignorant fucks spell it wrong.
