What does /sci/ think about the standard model? How much time do you think will pass until it will be replaced by a more elegant and complete theory?

standard model is a champ. it depends on how many modifications to it you’d allow before calling it a new theory; like are we allowed to patch in neutrino masses? or maybe a tweak for dark matter? a fourth generation maybe?

i think it will always be around as a good approximate model; and i say by the looks of it, nothing but string theory is likely to replace it, and even string theorists say that will take at least 50 years more research

Electric universe will replace the standard model in 3-5 years.

it will die once observing and containing the other particles becomes easier

gotta wait for that Chinese supercollider to discover new particles

Electricity is an electromagnetic phenomenon, and electromagnetism is already a part of the standard model.

lol @ you wasting your life like this instead of doing anything of value (except provide /sci/ with entertainment).

sorry guys but your theory predicts that the sun would have burned out several billion years ago, along with most of the stars in the galaxy. nuclear physics therefore needs to exist (even if you deny nuclear bombs and nuclear energy) because if not, your stars would be burned out
