My own idea on this is that less fortunate countries probably don't waste much time on personality disorders. Families with autists probably find a way to dump them as a cheap factory workers for most of their life. Might not notice that they're autists, or they might even think it's for the best. "Look at your brother, he works long hours and says nothing, why can't you be like him?"
