I have given lessons to immigrants. I have lived with people who barely talk german. I know what you mean, but friendship, compassion, giving another person company and talking about the little things. Its not a matter of intellect. Is more like being surrounded by elementary kids, sure I could enjoy spending time with children, but I rather spent my time being around my peers.

Also, inmigrants tend to be quite smart and risk takers.
But there's a clear diference that having four standart deviantions higher will make.

and is harder to make real friendships that way.
