But i find this to be the most unrealistic part of your hypothetical scenario. I live in a country with socialized healthcare with private options. Even if the WHO recommends to get your annual flu shot, health insurances would never cover it. They cover almost nothing that is this affordable for the individual and not life-threatening to the majority of the population, because they have to operate profitable. So I can't imagine the USA covering flu shots for their entire population. This is just too unrealistic.

Let's not forget the economic aspects. A measles shot costs what? cents? a dollar with the application costs included? the treatment of measles goes for several weeks and costs several hundredths. lol the flu vaccine does absolutely nothing. if you vaccinate its not going to reduce the symptoms and its not going to prevent you from catching it either. generally people who get the flu and die are better off dead anyway for the sake of humanity. seriously, how weak are you to die from the flu? you have to be stupid to not rest and drink fluids while sick.
