Is Forestry a STEM field?

>> No.10044998

forestry is a subset of ecology which is a subset of biology so I would say technically so, not really sure what happens in a forestry program the only person I know who studies forestry is getting a PhD in it from an undergrad in evolutionary biology.

desu i imagine a job in forestry would be pretty based

forestry, like all other resource management fields, is an applied science. so yes

>> No.10045178

No, it's more of a trade. I'm a scientist, but i've done hard manual labor (trails construction) before for usfs, nps, blm, and game and fish. It's not scientific, technology, engineering, or medicine.

Don't let "not stem" deter you if you want to do it, just dont expect to be a scientist. What you study doesnt prevent you from being a scientist...

>> No.10045303

It's more of a science than psychology.

You people are so weird about this shit. The entire board has this axe they need to grind.

It's because psychology is essentially the stolen valor equivalent of being a scientist.

Any -logy is not a science.

Yes. But it's biological so as usual as all life sciences there's no jobs

Its science or die... field biologists are killed every other year
