There's a wide range of bodily dysfunctions involved with having AIDS, including progressive brain damage. Medication does nothing for this. "PrEP" is not 100% and doesn't come without risks of its own.

AIDS is actually pretty difficult to contract unless you are having full on homosex. Prep reduces the chances of contracting the virus by several orders of magnitude on top of that.

The definition of an STD is one that is so hard to catch that only extremely intimate contact will pass it from person to person. Minus the stigma associated with the diseases, it would be pretty fucking easy to trace cases and wipe these diseases out in a generation.
