How do you guys study for some of your classes? Rather, how do you remember the material you review?

I have terrible memory and am struggling with Organic Chemistry. I take the version for Chemical Engineers which is basically all 24 chapters, instead of the normal 12 chapter split you'd have per the two semesters of that academic year.

My professor is awful and has been of no help to me

Read the textbook, do lots of practice, then review your lecture notes or whatever, sometimes I just reread the text if I have the time. As long as you don't skim and do practice immediately after reading it should stick in your system for a couple of weeks atleast

Do the exercises before lecture
I've mostly been doing maths recently but I like to keep clear english notes about what to do in each process, then practice the actual process.
Keep a sheet or notes about the little formulas and things that you've done a little while ago, try to keep them in mind and dont have to remember them all right before an exam
go to office hours

I'd suggest you use flashcards and just frequently read/study your books. OC has been a pain in my ass since I started my courses 2 years ago.
