Yes, but "manning up and getting on with life" doesn't make it magically go away. I've lived with severe OCD, ADHD, Bipolar, depression, ect for my entire life. I have it under control now to where no one else knows, no one can tell, I appear completely normal and live a completely normal life, except for the complete shit storm in my head. Every single day literally is a fucking challenge and is 10 times harder to live. So just because I've "manned up" and not let it affect my life and not made it evident, it doesn't make it go away. It is still very much there

Ok, this is my last post because I know everyone here is either trolling, or too unintelligent/self involved to understand. I am not bitching, I am saying that "ignoring" mental illness doesn't make it go away, and saying it doesn't exist altogether is ridiculous. My posts weren't about me trying to whine and bitch about being sick, I'm saying it's insulting when people say there's no such thing, when i've fought it my entire life. I got diagnosed with type 1 bipolar, went abit crazy inc getting arrested once and blowing £5000 in 2 months while at university. Got given a shit load lithium for almost 2 years before i had enough of how bored i felt most of the time because of the meds.

I guess you could say i manned up, i cope with the illness myself, tailor my life to suit when i can do different things best (study/work when im down, go out/chill out when im hyper). It took allot of willpower to get it done but it is possible to lead a normal life without being a pill junkie
