Bsc biology undergrad here, in my 2nd year. I feel like I could do fuck all in a real job, in fact I will go further and say this. Biology is unemployable, you will not make money unless you get into medicine. The only way you will ever get rich from STEM is if you do maths/data science and get into fucking finance - you would make more studying economics and becoming a fucking analyst. I got fucking scammed.
Fuck biology, all there is to do is get a PhD, get paid peanuts and beg for grants or work for some leftist cuckademic.

this, were you expecting to make it big starting with a biology undergrad? The fact that you choose this major not understanding its reality shows how immature and short sighted you are. You say you got scammed, but really you just picked a major without doing any proper research on your future job prospects. Your best bet at this point is to pivot into bioinformatics which is pretty booming right now and some biology background is needed so just focus on getting good at data/computer science, or play the long haul and get in early on the synthbio revolution

When I graduated with my BS in biology, the only job I was offered in the field was working the pony ride at the Philly zoo. Now I have my PhD and am employed as a research scientist in my speciality. Biology as a field isn't unemployable - you have to work on yourself until YOU are employable.
