I kind of ask myself the question?
How does an object gain mass in space... if matter is neither created nor destroyed. So an asteroid got locked in the orbit of the sun... and for it to gain mass. Asteroids must clash against the object in orbit. Or small meteorites. And if gravity results in the matter to be in constant motion the friction causes the molten state. But as more and more matter is added. A crust is formed above the core. And then "astroids/meteorites" containing h2o will slowly add water. Above this crust. So this process is so mind numbingly slow... it takes billions of years...

Actually there is not even a temperature in the absence of matter because temperature itself is molecular agitation.
Still if you were naked in space exposed to the sun, radiation would cook your exposed face pretty quickly because there isn't an atmosphere to absorb most of radiation
