i do have industry experience, two years in an eastern european pharma company. is this red flaggish to you? I'm not from eastern europe, just went there straight out of my masters for personal reasons. also, do american pharma companies consider European applicants or do they insta drop them to avoid the visa hassle?

Eastern Europe isn't a red flag inherently, but if you need sponsorship to work in the United States that's a tough sell, especially for something more entry level
That said, a lot of American companies have European offices and labs

Also you SHOULD have at least one ADDITIONAL degree in another subject (mathematics being the best).

LOL, it seems so stupid, but maybe you'll find something that floats your boat.
Also, epigenetics is hot stuff so you should be able to find something.. Just try to find it in the epigenetic field, or become a lab rat that doesn't exercise his expertise I guess.

If you're just looking to get into pharma and not necessarily r&d, you should look into manufacturing, like on the production floor
I got my start there since I didn't have any industry experience out of college, worked two years actually making the drugs before moving elsewhere
Pay is decent too

How could this happen? I was told constantly that the Arts and Communications majors would be serving coffee. Why did I put in the effort into studying? Why did I learn useless math? One of my HS classmates who never even took Calculus is now a 100K+/yr operations manager at a construction company. I've been job hopping on contracts paying sub 40k. I gave up prom, socializing, even "bad influence" friends to be a good boy. Everyday is a waking nightmare. Literally what the fuck did I do wrong?
