Reminder that Comp"sci" students are nothing more than glorified technicians.
Let me explain:
What is the definition of a technician?
>a specialist in the technical details of a subject or occupation
For example, doctors hire technicians to steer machines like the MRI. The technician's skills are entirely based on helping a superior field with the usage of it's instruments.
Now, are Computer scientists any better?
They often brag about being "indispensable" to many other fields like Physics, Chemistry or Biology, because the actual scientists who conduct research in these fields need some help with coding.
The compsci student is called upon when a discovery can only be made via informatics, but the compsci student knows that he did not contribute much more to the study than a CT technician did to the saving of a patient.

you're saying "comp sci" but you're talking about programming. comp sci isn't coding, or used where you said it is. comp sci is investigating scientifically the question of what can be done by computers

Computer Science also requires you to solve problems. Learning how to code and how the machine works (the technical details) isn't the hard part or the main part of your job.

It depends on what you mean by comp sci. Students at top 15 schools are getting a legitimate education, as evidenced by their academic/industrial careers. You usually see them double majoring in math or physics. In any event, graduate CS is completely different than undergraduate.

At least with computer science you receive skills that can be used outside of slave labor which includes earning money.

The rocketry simulation software everyone uses now was written by a CS masters student who loved aerospace and astrophysics.

CS students don't "operate the machine." You have things like the study of metastable states on protein folding through computational topology, black hole complexity, understanding genetics as a code, etc. There's a distinction between what you did at your last internship (write 10 lines of python code to import a library and run a simulation) and research, that usually ends up framing the problem in a mechanistic framework that can be analyzed mathematically. I'm not in CS, but it's foolhardy to think what's been going on in CS hasn't been incredibly exciting for all other fields of STEM.
