Not OP. I got 120 IQ in that test. But that's not saying much. I felt somewhat stressed when doing it since I've done that imagining cube and rotating while remembering position of faces. But maybe some people get stressed and they'd do far less well. If they weren't stressed, perhaps they'd get +10.

IQ over large groups isn't so inaccurate. The problem is determining intelligence of specific individuals. There are too many factors that IQ can't take into account. Factors that may be irrelevant over groups like races. For example, stress. An individual can be stressed out and this would be a negative but an entire group representing a general population won't necessarily be stressed. Those factors become less significant when dealing with entire groups.

It's like trying to figure an individual's sexual orientation (assuming you only have to guess if they are homo or heterosexual). It's much easier to have a better guess at wondering how many homosexuals makeup a general population, which is less than 10%. And if you look at the stats, you'd figure it's about 3% and you can be 95% sure that it's true. But can you be 95% sure that a specific random individual is gay or not gay? That's much harder to know because when reduced to the individual. It sounds counter intuitive but it's easily demonstrated with simple experiments.

Generalizations are easier to make because you only have to be right most of the time about the various members of that group. When you make a prediction about a certain individual, you can only be right once.

This is but one of many papers that is an example of the difficulty of assessing individuals vs groups.

I highly doubt it would be even close to equivalent given that the US is one of the most racially diverse nations in history. And there were obviously subsaharans in Egypt, they interacted frequently with Nubia, but that doesn't mean that they weren't- IN GENERAL- a non-white caucasoid like the current population of Egypt and most of the middle east. There are cool African nations in history you don't have to latch on to a country that happened to be on the same continent as your "ancestral home" to feel a sense of cultural/racial pride. A better thing to do besides taking racial pride is it take pride in yourself by making your own accomplishments instead of patting yourself on the back for the work of people who aren't related to you and lived 5000 years ago.
