Hi annons! I've got an statistics doubt and I hope you can give me an answer, if you want to, of course :)

The topic is the following:
If I've tested with an ANOVA that a factor we will name A has some effect on some variable that we will name X. Am I able to identify the level of the factor which a sample belongs? I mean, if a factor A has 2 levels A1 and A2, and they have been tested to be significative on the variable X, given some value for X can I identify to wich level of the factor, A1 or A2 does this sample belongs?

Thank you for paying attention bros!

And... How? I mean... How do I model the "algorithm"?

Ill take you advice. But, statistics is a nice hobby!

Its not even an actual hobby, common now.

I can't help you anon, I didn't take past intro stats, and hardly remember anything at that. I'm in grad school now, I wish intro stats was being taught better so that it didn't immediately become the bane of all first/second year undergrads, permanently turning them off from any interest in the subject in the future. If I could do things over I wouldn't say I would major in stats, but I would certainly respect it more while taking it, and I respect you if this is legitimately your hobby. I have nothing else to add and can't answer your question but I felt compelled to reply after reading >>9952710 because you seem nice and your enthusiasm appears genuine. Best of luck in the future

This is the sort of anti-intellectualism that is now deeply rooted in our society that makes me sad sometimes. Hobbies are apparently only allowed to be time wasting things, which is okay, but it should be okay to do productive things as a hobby as well. The specialization of modern humans in their own little tiny skillsets that make them perfect for a single job is the reason none of us can work together anymore, because we all know exactly one thing, the one that makes us money, and nothing else. I'm going to go read a book now and hope that things will get better eventually.

General statements about "our society" is the dumbest fucking shit I read on the internet. He is asking for help with his homework, statistics isn't a hobby. Don't be so gullible.

Then bonus points for at least using a veil of enthusiasm instead of
>bet you brainlets can't solve this one

>hating the term "our society" so much
Yes I understand we are in a time of "we live in a society", but it just happened to be the best word to express what I was trying to say. What do you want instead?

Op here, believe or not, im just enthusiast with statistics. Not my homework, not doing this for anyone except for me. If you are up to help me, thank you, if not well you know where the door is. If you are not able to comprehend than someone with not a huge statistical knowledge is interested in learning more about that I dont know how to convince you. Maybe you are frustrated researcher whos tired of doing statistics of bibliography or maybe tired of teaching some people that will end like you, frustrated. Its my hobby cause I enjoy learning about that and modelizing experiences, and, today, driving this question came to my mind. Maybe a Tukey test will be enough after the ANOVA to know the confidence intervals of every level and then, well, then i dont know how to model the formula, and thats why im asking, because im not a fucking mathematic and im humble enough to ask for increasing my knowledge and maybe to have a beautiful discussion like we are having now. People like you have the blame of every evil in "our society" ;)
And to the other one anon, thank you, appreciate your words.

Maybe you dont understand me, but i was little bit tilted hahahah :)

General statements based on personal preference and anecdote are just really dumb. If you just say you don't like anti-intellectuals, then whatever. But don't make it about how you are fighting this deep-rooted ill to 'our society' without anything to even back the claim up. And any general statement about something as diverse as 'our society(whatever that actually means)' is just meaningless.

Can you use f-test for reduction? In a newb to stats stuff

Op here, im not sure if im understanding you, but, are you telling me to do a regression? I think that im not able to that because i just got a factor and a variable.

Anon I'm not sure you can solve this problem if I understood it correctly. Lets say A1 is female and A2 is male and variable X is time, say time spend shopping. Are you asking given the time is the shopper male or female?

You could try to make empirical distributions conditional to sexes and see how probable it is that the shopper is male or female but I'm just guessing here.
