Just one of a number of studies linking artificial sweeteners to weight gain. Evidently, when you try to trick your body with sweeteners instead of sugar, it pays you back by stimulating appetite to make up for the calories it thought it was going to get.

Switched to drinking coffee, tea or just plain water in the last few weeks...when I do drink sweetened drinks, I just have "normal" sugar or HFCS sweetened. Can confirm that my appetite has plummeted precipitously. Be warned that there's a few days of withdrawal symptoms. Also, flavored "sparkling" beverages are on the shit list...creates the same effect.
