so i talked to this c"""""""""s""""""""" cuck guy the other day and i told him he was a brainlet because he didn't know how to complete a square

stupid fuck told me he'd just finished reading spivak and was then going to self-teach electrodynamics (roflolmao) so he could build some accurate models for a """simulation"""

told him oiler's method was trivial and he wasn't a special child

fucker told me i was a moron for not knowing the R. Kayford method

googled it later that day, doesn't even exist kek what a dumbass hahahhaha

how do we deal with c"""""""""""s""""""""""" majors?

Start a business or research project using your actual knowledge and offload programming to cs people, CS majors are lapdogs of those who actually control the world's innovation and power. They may have jobs. but the majority won't have control.

I have to say, I don't like talking trash about STEM, but if I were to:

Anyone can learn how to do mathematics and chemistry with the right teacher. Not anyone can do all that stuff and be creative enough to come up with badass and unique solutions utilized in one of the most complex mechanisms created by man. Also, what good is electrical engineering for inventing shit if you can't even write the code for the micro-controller to utilize your components/pcb? Computer Science gives you the ability to not only control shit in the physical world, but also in the cyber world. We Computer Scientists are pretty much like gods, with the ability to create whatever we want virtually, within the constraints of time and raw computing power. On top of that, with dabbling(google) in EE and ME, we can also create robots and shit.

What I'm trying to say, is that in your studies in math/physics/chemistry, you will never spend two full semesters of independent studies developing and creating robots from the smallest components and up, designing your own circuit boards to house and interface with a micro-controller of your choice.

If I were to talk trash to other STEM majors, this is what I would say.. But I'm a nice guy, so I'll abstain.

Just double major in math and CS. Non brainlet CS programs already have a decent amount of math in their prereqs. Why would you choose to be either learned (though undergrad mathematics only touches the surface) or employable when you could choose to be both? The best part is prepping yourself for when continuous mathematics makes an appearance in grad school CS, which is where the meme “CS is just math” comes true.

The continue gets optimized out easily during compilation. It just turns into a simple jump in control flow when made into assembly. It's also a one line loop. It's not really bad at all.

Also, since the single line is a loop, you're doing a check at the top; it checks out as good form for control flow because you're using continue like a precondition. Read Knuth's guidelines

>> No.9923936

>>9923926
Also adding onto this, there are a myriad of classes out there that aren't project based. Automata, most of cryptography, design and analysis of algorithms, etc. were all incredibly math heavy. The project based ones like Numerical Analysis and Graphics were also really math heavy (both of which requiring ODEs and the former suggesting you take PDEs).

I'm not saying that they were like analysis (though I double majored, so I took that too, and it ended up being handy in ML), but then all the traditional math you learn as a math major ends up coming back in CS grad school
