Quantum computing is a good one, it will allow us to do the rest of the things on this list more efficiently for example simulations and complex calculations by not being necessarily quicker at processing but having the potential to process incredibly larger information which would be almost impossible and certainly impractical with a conventional computer

We live in a brainlet society. People would rather keep up with the Kardashians or hate politicians that are popular to hate on or spoil themselves in economies with no actual backing wasting their money on materialist goods that don’t mean anything to anyone.
