Ok heres the plan...

>build a pipeline from the Pacific ocean to Death Valley

Reason 1
>Add H2O to an extremely dry, hot and low lying region. Doing so would add vapor to the air and helping out with cloud formation
Reason 2.
>Start to add massive amount of water to the ground which will eventually interact with that supervolcanoe that yellowstone is famous for. If we can cause some earthquakes that relieve some pressure... the less likely a massive eruption will take place
Reason 3.
>Create new salt deposits
Reason 4.
>California is a massive desert anyway and steals water from far away... Its time they start desalinizing some water instead of stealing it from the north. They can have massive storage tanks along the pipeline where the towns can use that water

Also that's not Yellowstone, not even close, so reason 2 is out.

Also we don't need salt deposits. If anything, California needs the water. If we're just evaporating the water for clouds, as in reason 1, that means you help Nevada with rain. If you're instead talking about a giant solar still above Death Valley, that's incredibly inefficient.
