So in your opinion, which major have you observed to have the most intelligent people? I'm a mechanical engineering major and I would say it's chemistry or physics.

Putting a field on a certain dot might be a bit misleading.
Fields like Chemistry, Physics or Engineering for example are extremely widespread and can reach from pop-science to actual nobel prize-worthy accomplishments.
As a chemistry major, I had contact with organics, physical, inorganic, biochem and a lot more. They weren't more or less intelligent, they just were "differently" intelligent.
The only generalisation you could do is that the more "pure" your field of work/research gets, the more mathematical it ranks.

Depends if its in terms of difficulty of material or how much their earning potential is? In terms of winning at life its:

> finance ( investment banking, PE, VC)
> economics (See above)
> medecins ( surgeons get upthere's off 300k p.a)
> law ( top law firms upwards of 200k)
> computer science
> Data science and Machine learning
> IT sales
> All other engineering

Good luck staying employed with a science degree.

Remember kids, what's the difference between a pizza and pure math major? A pizza can feed a family of 4.

A degree is just access to equipment and certification, you can learn without it.

I have the feeling this is a pure USA thing.
Here in Europe, you can pretty easily get a job with a science degree and still are one of the top earners (~#5-6 in most places).
