Neither was mine retard. You should be able to get an A in a rigorous discrete math class or a hand wavy one. And a low B in differential equations? are you handicapped?
I took calc 2 when I was HS sophomore age, I dropped out freshman year to start college early. Those AP exams are an absolute joke

I just read the rest of your retarded post. I'm a CS and pure math double major too. I got A's in every one of those classes you listed. You have to be brain dead to make algebra mistakes such that you get a low B. Yes, of course proofs are more important than computations, but you shouldn't be proud of your ineptitude.

Exactly, your same point about algebra mistakes applies to mine with biology. I got an A- by exactly one point (out of around 800 for the course). But it's not a big deal because biology is a joke. It was hard to care about it. Memorization requires you to at least put the requisite work in. I feel stupid bragging so here's my real point: There are dozens, hundreds even, of people who have taken those exact courses and got A's on all of them. You're not special. The fact that you can't even pull an A- average in courses for your own major doesn't bode well. Perhaps you'd be better in a different field? This thread is embarrassing and you're in need of a reality check, fortunately I'm sure one is coming soon. It's a wonder how so many geniuses with imposter syndrome and brainlets like you can exist simultaneously.

>> No.9712748

>>9712746
Algebraic mistakes are different as its applied rules to a problem, if we want to be technical I would have a 4.0 average as a CS major, I don't pull As cuz most of the time unless I care about how something directly relates to CS/a subset of math I care about I don't bother with it as much (my Linear algebra prof was prob one of the most inspirational teachers along with the dept. chair of CS at my uni). Also, I doubt you are one of them or that even 5% of this board has even passed calc 2.

>> No.9712750

>>9712748
Is it really so hard to believe that someone did well in undergrad math? Why would I lie about that on an anonymous forum?
>I don't pull As because I don't care.
Sure whatever, that's your prerogative, and you're probably correct that they don't exactly matter, but don't then brag about your mediocre grades. Also I hope you're not planning on going to grad school because you need better grades than that to get into a good institution.

desu, our calc 3 class had a drop rate of 50% and a average of 70% same with complex analysis with a 60% droprate and an average of like 68%, I still don't know how far I honestly want to go with pure math, I appreciate it way more than calc cuz it explains why we can do so many of the things we take for granted but when considering the job market for it and how much of a bitch complex analysis as a whole was I don't know, it feels like I am trying to turn a hobby into a degree/career pivot that can help me get into ML/ neural net, here's hope abstract algebra and topological algebra is more interesting.

>> No.9712774

>>9712767
I can't see myself doing anything other than pure math so I don't know about that. Those averages are pretty typical. My calc 3 prof was a brainlet and kept making mistakes, I emailed him 7 times about corrections to answer keys, and I got 103% in the course (I always complete the extra credit to increase my understanding). I see your point about only caring about courses that matter for you, but I put my all into everything I take because I enjoying pursuing knowledge. But for the love of god stop bragging about fucking slightly above average grades.

Lol, our calc 3 prof would make constant algebra mistakes and talk more about how hard it is to be a women in math. I only brag cuz I know if I tried I would get higher grades, got like a 2150 on my SAT and a 35 out of 36 on my ACT all the apfags would always consider me lesser cuz I was a slacker back in hs 3.2 gpa and shit but when I btfo'd all of them it felt good :^)

>> No.9712786

Yeah sure, but the "smart but lazy" thing isn't a good look. It's not very likable. My calc 3 prof put anime references into the study guides, he was this kind of awkward asian. He was in his 20's with a professorship so he must be smart but he sucked at algebra and calc 1. I suppose that strengthens your earlier point. Don't brag on 4chan, it's been around for a long time, and a number of kids who shitposted on /sci/ in high school are now tenured faculty and much more accomplished than you. You'll always be humbled by this shit hole. There's a reason they say 4chan is smart people pretending to be dumb.

I also doubt the whole 4chan 4d chess meme, look at /pol/ and all the stupid shit that goes on in /sci/ alone. If the people who are actually 6 gorillion IQ or some shit are on here they definitely are not the ones who post that often if at all.
