Just how accurate is this?
How do people with clinically tested high IQ's score in this?

It's a copy and paste of a spatial intelligence test from a real IQ test. So it's probably quite accurate.

Pretty accurate. IQ test validity decays about 0.3 points per year due to the Flynn effect though (it overestimates by that much), so when the test was normed is important.

I'm still curious of how actually intelligent people do on this. /sci/ is full of mathematicians and scientists isn't it?

>> No.9710154

I took it seriously and got 135. Then I just clicked around randomly and got 97. I remember taking something almost identical a few months ago and got 145, so I've never put much faith into these online tests.

I took it for shits and got 123, and that was skipping about 3 questions I couldn't get in under a minute and had about 10 minutes left on the timer so I clearly could have gone back if i had fucks to give.

I was, once, given an actual IQ test and got 130 but that was over a decade ago so 123 isn't an entirely inaccurate modern assessment.

Do you get minus points if you guess(wrong) on a question?(I left a few out because I thought that was the case)
I am a maths undergrad and only got 124

>> No.9711457

>>9711447
124 is still over 1.5SD above the norm, so in a sampling of 99 random people plus you, you'll be one of the smartest people in the room.

A total meme.
Everyone here has 120+ without even trying and can get above the 9th decile.
By entering numbers randomly, you should at least be able to get on the bad side of the curve. The test looked legit though, but the scale is wrong.

Yeah man, one of my old profs got an NSERC grant and sent me an email since I was one of her shining stars in undergrad. It wasn't hard when there was only 4 people in my intro abstract algebra and intro analysis courses though.

This test sounds like bullshit to me, even if it only measures spatial intelligence. There's still 6 types of intelligence left to measure

I took the real Mensa test and a more in depths one after that with a real psychologist and the questions on the one you liked seem a bit weak in comparison to the latter.
I've heard that Mensa basically cheats to get more members, so the tests they hold are tailored to 'only' determine if people are in the 97th percentile or above, meaning that the result, while technically correct, can mean that you're a brainlet but they still let you in.

I'm pretty sure the lowest you can get is 90 before it tells you that it can't measure lower. The maker worked with many people from high IQ societies to make it as accurate as possible.

She was very manipulative herself. She used my moral tendencies and defeatism to guilt trip me into acting the way she wanted me to. Really slimy but her IQ was a real surprise to me. I'm starting to think she got a low score on purpose to make me think she is not smart enough to be manipulative (I have been pointing out how she acts sometimes not long before I gave her the test).

I've consistently scored between 117 and 121 on online raven's progressive matrices tests over many years. Recently I scored 107 twice on an online verbal IQ test recommended by Emil Kirkegaard (intelligence researcher).

I don't know if the gap implies that my spatial is around 119 while my verbal is around 107 (averaging out to 113), or if one of the tests is a better indication of g and my IQ is closer to one than the other. If anything I think 107 makes the most sense considering the cognitive ability of my nuclear family. They're all pretty average or dumb with no higher education, though the most exceptional person in my extended family is an autist who might be on his way to getting a degree in some hard science so I guess there's some precedent for above average IQ.
