Because increased global heat means more evaporation over the ocean which brings more moisture inland longer and make it snow more erratically. Notice it's also raining more? The upper atmosphere where cloud form tend to be cooler than surface level which allows this moisture to crystallize into snow and fall in a time like April when it normally wouldn't because those moisture systems wouldn't be as active. Global warming is the outdated term to describe the reality which is global climate change. By raising the global temperature more the world doesn't just get hotter and that's it, it fucks up everything because climate is extremely complex like that.

The April snow was probably a front tracked sown from up North. Why did it come down? Because of the higher air pressures. The attempt by the system to equalize drew a Northern front down to areas it usually wouldn't reach. What causes higher pressures? Basically higher temperatures.
