I'm pretty fucking retarded, but I'm pretty sure the sun doesn't "burn", as in its not constantly combusting. All of it is ionized gas, so plasma, that's not really burning. The core fuses elements, this releases energy, makes everything really hot, and then the gas becomes fully ionized
