>tfw done a lot of math but never taken a calc cycle

How do I get a quick as fuck run down on calc so I don't embarrass myself by not even knowing what an integral is?

I'm accustomed to proofs and abstraction and rigor .

Honestly I have no interest in those calc topics

Calc is all pretty self-explanatory. Don't worry about it.

nigga an integral is just big sigma over reals. derivative is the inverse of that.

Not all colleges force you to do calc for unrelated classes

I got into Math through formal logic, then took discrete math , then did abstract algebra and computation theory, automata theory , cryptography& number theory

That's what my main interests are

That's a problem if you're not in high school. Calculus is basic math any math student should know.

Anyway, acquaint yourself with limits and then move on to derivatives. After that you could move on to integration, since integrating a function is equivalent to taking its anti-derivative

how did you calculate complexity classes without calc?

Dude honestly what the fuck?

It just wasn't interesting and I wasn't a true math major so faculty were fine.

Wait , is that calc?
I just kinda did them , with a lot of help and study

What the fuck is taught in a calculus course anyway? I did calculus of finite difference equations

In a typical intro to calc course you'll deal with limits, derivatives, integrals, etc.

But since you're accustomed to abstraction and rigor, you could take an analysis 1 course and move on from there. It shouldn't be difficult for you

well, consider what a tangent is: a point and slope at that point. you get the slope by calculating the derivative.

thus you know what a derivative is

an integral is also known as an anti-derivative

now you know all there is to know.

Yes yes, you "did" formal logic, set theory, abstract algebra, cryptography & number theory. Let me guess, it was all in one discrete math course.

$10 says OP is a CSfag who taught themselves pseudo-math like type and category theory.

no it was all the real classes. as you can see i already listed discrete math.
