Let X > 3 be a prime number.

We know that X+1 is not a prime number because of parity. Neither are X+3, X+5, X+7 etc. Hence, if a number X+Y is a prime (Y > 0), Y must be even.

Hence every prime number is of form of 3 + 2K where K >= 0 is the number of 2's in the summation.
