Jung created a cognitive "stack" which supposedly explains how our cognition and process of decision making works. People interpret these stacks, and according to jung they should be able to get a hyper specific description of there personality. Read the description of your type on any site more focused on "Jungian cognitive functions", everything starts to fall apart, and instead of getting useful information that is hard to obtain through self reflection, it's just stuff that you can easily disregard as being false. The big five basically quit trying to make theoretical models of how our brain works, studied some people, generalized common behaviours onto multiple spectrums, and then decided a simple test which would ask questions testing these common behaviours.
It works well, and at the moment it looks to be more accurate because it relies less on predicting traits through a weird model of human cognition, and more on just correlating data. You don't need to give him control of everything, but if you let him take the lead in the things he feels comfortable with (likely traditionally masculine things, but it could be anything) and you do the things that come naturally to you, then you should end up with a balanced relationship.
