How do I turn myself in to an uber hardworking person? I don't have ADHD or anything like that but I procrastinate everything to an incredible degree due to lack of interest or immediate needs.

How do I stay inside learning or doing nerdy shit when it's summer outside and everyone is having fun? And I live in Britain ffs! If I lived in California I probably would have failed university due to this. I know I am an ugly nofriends loser who won't enjoy being outside but I still can't convince myself to work hard

>> No.9657793

Option A: Drugs
Option B: You will work hard if you're interested in what you're doing. If you're not interested, then you need to consider Option A or Option C.

I personally believe that the reason I myself (and you perhaps) am incapable of working hard is simply because I have nothing which I am working towards. There is no clear, concrete, easily defined goal which I am trying to achieve; if you asked me where I wanted to be in 10 years, I would answer: with a lot of money in my bank account, and with no need to work.

Me doing my work isn't going to get me there, simply because "there" isn't a clear location. I'm taking steps towards somewhere, and I don't know where that somewhere is, so rather than travelling to somewhere I know nothing of, I prefer to simply not act at all.

Until you decide what you want, I don't think you will have any reason to work hard. Figure out what you want, figure out what steps you need to take to get there, and just work for it. If you want it badly enough, you will have no problem focusing.

Start by doing one thing at a time. I started with making my bed every morning, and then I moved on to reading 15 pages of something that interested me per day, and eventually my situation improved. Do note that if you say I'll do it tomorrow you'll never actually do it.

>Start by doing one thing at a time

This is good advice to prevent being overwhelmed. Consistency and patience is important when you're working towards something.

>I started with making my bed every morning
>and then I moved on to reading 15 pages of something that interested me per day,

This doesn't align with my advice. These are steps being taken towards no particular end goal in mind. Sure OP could do these things, and no doubt, he would feel better after having organized his bed, or learning something new, but why should he? Both actions provide a "feel good" satisfaction, the pleasure of having accomplished something, but accomplishing something and accomplishing what you want are two different things.

It's for this reason that so many people go to the gym, eat well, save their money, abstain from X, and find no joy at the end of it. They are doing things that take effort, delay gratification, and provide pleasure; but not the pleasure they are looking for.

>Do note that if you say I'll do it tomorrow you'll never actually do it.

This advice is so difficult to heed, because it's generally understood that to get the things we want, we may have to do things we do not want to do; "Do you what you need to do, so you can do what you want to do."

When there's nothing you want to do, what's the point in doing things you "need" to do?

You'll be dead soon, stop thinking you have time to waste idiot. That's how. Create a "realization point" where any time your mind realizes "I'm wasting time" you IMMEDIATELY go work on something in your TODO list

Make a TODO list for this purpose. Just mindlessly pick the first thing in the list and do it when you realize you're wasting time. Become your own CPU scheduler, don't just let it meander around and hope it gets to the correct tasks at the right time, schedule your CPU

I meant to say that my response is separate from yours. I do things because I have to, not because I want to. Motivation? Don't need it. Satisfaction? Don't care for it. I simply live because I do. My situation is probably not different from OP's, but I simply do things because I have to. Is there any point in doing the things I do? Not at all.

Stop being a lazy fuck, you dont "need motivation" to do jack shit. If you feel you want to do something go fucking do it, stop being a pussy and procrastinate, i'm not saying procrastination is bad but holy hell just get the fuck up and do something. You want to be a uber whatever the fuck then do it. If you need motivation but fucking sit there then you wont find shit. Read a fucking book about math, you dont like it? Biology? No? Onto the fucking next? You hands on? Yes? Ok, find something that interests you hands on. If its overwhelming tackle it, make it your bitch. Own it like a slave. Just dont go to make fucking thread asking for a how to step by step guide if you know youre gonna put it off cuck.

It's simple. Every morning when you wake up you should ask yourself: "am I going to be a man or a child today?". How you'll spend the rest of the day follows from that.
If you need motivation or learn how to be a man, then read ancient history.

people usually think the mental state is the cause, however your lack of motivation to work hard may simply be a symptom of shitty sleep, terrible diet and/or health in general

If your sleep is fine your diet is good and youre in a normal bmi range then its a mental issue

They've done multiple experiments on this man, i've read through a couple. In a 10x12 room lets say the quality of air would rise slightly if you have a couple of plants it wont rise by a whole lot but the amount of o2 in the room would rise even if slightly. If you have the windows closed and lets say a little thingy that goes under the door I forgot the name that prevents air from leaving the amount of o2 would rise even if slightly. Think of it logically man, which room is gonna have more o2, a regular room without a couple of plants or a room with a couple of plants. Literally think about it. You can experiment too, go and try it.
