How good are the feynman lectures for learning physics?

for learning Physics, not very good
for reviewing Physics, excellent
t. have all three volumes

Depends of what you already know.
Aimed at intelligent, STEM oriented, college freshmen.
If you think you could hack it, try reading the first few chapters. Or view the lectures on-line. All on YouTube.
Feynman's a good "explainer" but he makes no concessions.

He's been dead for like 40 years now you fucking faggot. Not only youtube didn't exist back then, internet wasn't even a thing like at all.

Those lectures should be used only as a supplement to a more detailed book with calculations. Feynman had a great ability to talk about complicated subjects with accessible language, but you're not going to really learn the physics without doing plenty of calculations along the way.

You should read these:

>> No.9624395

how good would the Feynman lectures be for a mathematician (applied) looking to expand my research interests into more physics-based applied math?
my background is computational math and finance

If you want a complete course read the Landau Lifshitz collection
