Can someone explain me why Tesla is considered an idiot when it comes to comparing him to other geniuses?

>> No.9457392

>>9457288
As much as I love Tesla, he's not a scientific genius, he's a genius engineer. People compare him to Einstein when they're completely different geniuses.

>> No.9457398

>>9457288
Tesla publicly disagreed with Einstein's theories. Though he wasn't alone in that.

>> No.9457419

>>9457288

Crackpots love Tesla so eventually the opinion aimed toward crackpots projects onto Tesla himself.

He knew things he shouldn't have

That's why the FBI trashed his place after he died and took his documents and things.

He took scientific principles and derived from them his inventions... However he didn't discover anything original. Everything he worked with was firmly within scientific grasp at the time.

That's because he was out of his time extraordinary. People struggles even today with understanding his inventions. He is the smartest guy i can think of.

No, it’s because muh Tesla has become a ridiculous Reddit-tier meme for every neckbeard because they too are a misunderstood genius or something.
Fuck off snowflakes. Insull and Edison were right. Tesla was a ginormous faggot ho should have been gassed.

Uneducated. Didn't produce anything of note (not even some cool devices, let alone of a scientific nature--which is far more noteworthy.) Was a delusional retard, possibly mentally ill. Worshiped by new age fags.

Alternating current.

That's about it, though. Can't speak for the redditors, or whatever else is supposed to be important about him, but alternating current has been useful as fuck.

Oh, I guess alternating-current motors, generators, and transformers should be included in all that. No big deal, just the basis for damn near everything of note.

He did some work on electric motors. He certainly didn't invent them, discover the principle behind them, or make huge advances on them.

>> No.9464292

He's not considered an idiot he just became really popular with popsci retards and the general public and you know what that means on 4chan.
Also the perception of Tesla is really damaged by retards calling him a scientist when he's obviously a reasercher and inventor and we should be viewing him a such. He wasn't ever a professor nor did he ever spend time writing for science magazines and collecting citations which are a good measure of a scientists works impact on the scientific community. On the other hand I've talk to a physics professor who said that Teslas ideas and inventions were actually used for around 10 different discoveries that got a Nobel prize. Take the information for what you will. You don't have to hate something just because redditors and normies like it. They usually have no idea what they are liking isn't even real but rather a mainstream representation of that thing which just shows their ignorance.

The number of papers and citations one has has become one big game. What matters most is the calibre of one's research.
