Why am I a brainlet on number and visual memory, /sci/?

How well does /sci/ score?

The Major System would be useful for improving number memory, OP. It replaces numbers with words but takes a bit of an effort to learn.

The number memory test is the most skewed because a lot of people simply write the numbers down or take a picture with their phones so they can score higher on the number test and post it on /sci/. The visual test is also easy to cheat on by taking a picture of the first screen with your phone before it disappears.

You're actually pretty smart, just not smart enough to cheat.

Excluding reaction time, I wonder if verbal memory is the best and number memory is the worst for most people.

For verbal I find it helps to repeat new words in a strange and weird sentence in your head.

Or if you can a ridiculous long word like:

>dendrological

I would repeat to myself something like "dead end logical" in my head.

Why is visual memory so hard?

>> No.9436348

>>9436331
Just memorize in chunks backwards, and use both visual and auditory memory. For example, 1270293219 I would memorize as:

nineteen
thirty-two/nineteen
029/thirty-two/nineteen
127/029/thirty-two/nineteen

Also helps to go ahead and visualize the keystroke direction and placement, like 127 is all in one direction.

Verbal one is nothing to be proud about since you could just take as long as you want memorizing the words, really there should be like a 5 sec limit to decide wheter it's a new or an old word.
